Sardar Gunj Mercantile Cooperative Bank Ltd. (Anand) English Medium College of Commerce and Management (S G M English Medium College of Commerce and Management) popularly known as SEMCOM was established in the year 1997 with the objective of imparting quality education to the students who desire to graduate in commerce and management.

SEMCOM is set up with the generous donation of 35 Lakhs against the total project cost of Rs.150 Lakhs by Sardar Gunj Cooperative Bank Ltd. (Anand) on self -finance basis keeping in mind the changing in a short span of time, has established its presence in the state of Gujarat. The college is affiliated to Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar.

The three year degree courses of B.Com, BBA & BCA & four year degree course of BBA (Honours) Information Technology Management and two-year post graduate course of Master of E-Business and one year (part-time) course of Postgraduate Diploma in E-Business offered by the college attempt to cover all relevant aspects in a highly pragmatic manner. All these courses are affiliated to Sardar Patel University. The college continuously strives to provide the most relevant and modern facilities for students as well as faculties. SEMCOM has set up excellent facilities with regard to infrastructure and environment to promote effective learning and also to make learning a pleasure.

Starting with, the college has an excellent "Computer Centre" which provides in true sense a gateway to a world of application and information resources. The whole centre is equipped with 2 Mbps centralized internet leased line facility. The latest computers on LAN, free access, 1:1 computer-student ratio enhance the value of the centre. Moreover the Web Server, Mail Server, Proxy Server ensure the live access of our E-Business students to the internet world.

In order to facilitate learning the college has a well-furnished "FACULTY LOUNGE" which provides platform to the students for an easy interaction with the faculty. The Faculty Lounge has also internet & intranet access which keeps the faculty abreast of current trends and helps in evolving right kind of material for the E-Commerce program.

The college has established strong linkages with Business and Industry. Various programs and activities are organized in collaboration with organizations like Indo American Chamber of Commerce, Gujarat, American Information Resource Centre, Gujarat, American Information Resource Centre, Mumbai and Charotar Management Association.
