Copyright Infringements

With the increased use of web nowadays, infringement of copyright has also increased. This is because of easy access to the web, downloading facilities, etc. Many a times softwares are also pirated which are available on newsgroup bulletins and auction sites. As per Copyright Act, it is difficult to protect unauthorized use and distribution of work over internet. One of the solutions is to ensure high security by bulletin board operators to ensure that its system is not being used to display and download copyrighted material by its customers. Transferring of data from one computer to another violate the reproduction rights of authors. Unauthorized reproduction or scanning a copyrighted printed document into a digital file, uploading, downloading copyrighted file to a bulletin board system is copyright infringement. On account of peculiarities of the technology, copyright act and IT Act 2000 are unable to protect copyrights of the contents copyright, trademark, domain name, media convergence are some of the issues for which stricter laws are the need of the time.
